Women Composers

In order to publicize the work of outstanding women in the field of musical composition, we will publish, in the month of their birth, a brief biography of some of them.

The names of the composers come from the poster Notable Women Composers by Sylvia Glickman and artist Paulette Jellinek. This poster was given as a gift in celebration of Library Week on April 11, 2019 by professor Ana María Hernández and her students from the Latin American Composers course, a course that was offered for the first time that year at the Conservatory. The poster includes the names of women composers in the classical music genre. The students of the course enriched the content of the poster by adding the names of several Latin American and Puerto Rican composers.

You can see the moment of delivery of the poster to the Library at the following link: Notable Women Composers Poster Delivery
