About Singing Concentration

CMPR Singing major students study under the tutelage of a renowned faculty, with vast experience in voice performance and teaching. Students also gain diverse opportunities to perform on stage through the annual opera workshop production, opera scene programs, art song recitals, chamber music ensembles, zarzuelas, and Broadway musicals. Additionally, these complement their education through language studies (Italian, French and German), body movement lessons, acting lessons and stage presence activities.

Learning outcomes

The graduate of this specialty:

  • You will demonstrate at a high level the comprehensive capabilities and artistry of playing your instrument or voice, including the ability to work independently to prepare public performances.
  • You will demonstrate technical mastery in your instrumental medium through public performances, ensemble performances, departmental juries, ensemble auditions, seminars, master classes, pre-recital and recital.
  • He will serve as a music professional for numerous orchestras, conservatories, secondary schools and academies around the world.
  • You will demonstrate extensive repertoire knowledge of your instrument and/or voice to begin a career as an artist in the classical genre.
  • You will demonstrate exceptional leadership skills through participation in musical ensembles and seminars.
