About CRAFAR

The Ángel Ramos Foundation Learning Resource Center (CRAFAR) has been designed to offer all the necessary services to support the teaching-learning process of a specialized university musical institution such as the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music. This comprehensive institutional unit integrates the resources and services that, along with other interrelated areas, support the educational work carried out by the Conservatory in all its academic programs.

The CRAFAR consists of four different, but interconnected units: the Amaury Veray Library, the Audiovisual Services area, the Technology Room and the Institutional and Historical Archive of the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music.

Interactive Learning Center

The Interactive Learning Center was created to offer theory and other music technology courses to students in the university program.

Audiovisual Media Services

Document institutional activities for educational purposes, so that our academic community has them accessible as a teaching tool.

Mission

The mission of the Learning Resource Center is to provide services, information, media and musical resources that facilitate the teaching, learning, research and enjoyment of the musical arts of our academic community and the general public, in addition to promoting integrating the use of technology in the classroom.

Vision

The vision of the Learning Resource Center is to be a dynamic and innovative center with the information, musical bibliographic resources and technology necessary to support the mission of the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music.

Goals

  • Provide the academic community with access to innovative technology and information resources necessary to support and improve academic programs.
  • Promote the use and integration of technology and information resources in the teaching-learning process.
  • Develop information and technology skills in our academic community to improve teaching and to prepare students for their futures.
  • Recruit and develop faculty with the expertise necessary to anticipate and meet the diverse information needs of the academic community.
  • Contribute to the growth and cultural enrichment of the academic community and the musical life of Puerto Rico.
  • Contribute to the preservation and dissemination of Puerto Rican musical heritage for future generations.
