Theory and aural skills placement exam

Dear Music Teachers:

The portal theory.com has created a platform for students who are going to audition for the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music that allows them to take an online theory and dictation placement exam very similar to the one they will take in person during the admission process.

Your students will be able to practice as long as they want and you will receive a weekly report detailing your students' activity so that you can help them prepare better.

This service is completely free.

Reminder:

  • Having access to teoria.com in this way does not guarantee that the student will pass the instrument audition, nor does it ensure a higher placement level in music theory. This is only so that there is a clearer idea and reference of what would come on the theory placement exam that the student would take if they were admitted to the Conservatory through their instrument audition.
  • They will also have the opportunity to request the Theory Exam Review.

For a student to be accepted to any specialty, they must take the Theory and Dictation Placement Exam. The exam consists of two main parts, namely:

– General musical theoretical knowledge
– Listening skills
