Admissions Events

The Admissions Office is the institutional unit responsible for the Conservatory's recruitment and admissions process. It is responsible for receiving, reviewing, and processing all applications for admission submitted to the institution.

Among the services offered and/or coordinated through this office are:

1. Guidance on admission requirements for prospective students, parents, and music teachers.
2. Group presentations at schools and participation in college fairs.
3. Visits for prospective students to seminars, workshops, and concerts.

Our school visits are designed to recruit, inspire, and guide students who are interested in pursuing a professional career in music. These activities are offered in a variety of formats.

Open Houses

Our Open Houses are designed to give prospective students and their families the opportunity to meet faculty members from each academic department, including:

  • Woodwinds
  • Brass and Percussion
  • Composition
  • Voice
  • Classical Guitar
  • Strings
  • Musical Education
  • Jazz and Caribbean Music

Visitors may attend demonstration classes, receive information about audition repertoire and admission requirements, and hear firsthand experiences from current Conservatory students.

These events also provide an opportunity to ask questions and receive personalized guidance regarding the Conservatory's academic programs and admissions process.

Open Rehearsals

Open Rehearsals provide prospective students with the opportunity to expand their musical knowledge while becoming familiar with the Conservatory, its faculty, and its academic programs.

Visitors observe rehearsals of the Conservatory's major performing ensembles, including:

  • Symphonic Band
  • Symphonic Orchestra
  • Concert Choir
  • Concert Jazz Band

Campus tours are included as part of the visit.

Open Rehearsals are intended primarily for middle school and high school student groups.
