
The Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music (CMPR) and the Miramar Symphony Orchestra are proud to present the first graduation recital in Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting, by José M. Febus González. Febus González is the first student accepted into the CMPR Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting program, a new program that began in August 2022.
The recital will take place on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at 4:00 pm, in the Jesús María Sanromá Room, of the Bertita and Guillermo L. Martínez Theater, in Miramar.
The recital marks the end of two years of studies in orchestral conducting at the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music. Febus González is the first student candidate for graduation from the conservatory's graduate program. This moment is a historic one in the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music, which has been celebrating 65 years since its founding in 1959.
Attendees will be able to enjoy an exciting selection of classical pieces, including the overture to WA Mozart's opera ''Magic Flute''. Also, the Introduction and Rondo Caprichoso, by C. Saint-Saëns, will be presented, performed by Walter Alberguini, assistant principal violinist of the second violins of the PR Symphony Orchestra. By the composer A. Dvořák, the public will be able to enjoy the Symphony no. . 8 in G major Op. 88, plus a special surprise at the end of the recital. It should be noted that the young José M. Febus González serves as manager of the Puerto Rico Philharmonic Orchestra and as one of its guest conductors.
