Canóvanas inaugurates the School of Fine Arts named after the composer Alfonso L. Fuentes Colón

Fuentes Colón pointed out that the opening of this school is historic, “since it is the first time that Canóvanas, my hometown, will have a municipal school of fine arts that will serve its residents and those of surrounding towns. Two buildings have been designated for this school, and a generous investment,” said the musician.

The opening events will be attended by the mayor of Canóvanas, Lornna Soto, members of the central and municipal government, as well as cultural personalities. The activity will also feature a variety of artistic presentations.

“I am very grateful to the people of Canóvanas, its distinguished mayor and municipal government for this beautiful distinction. “It is an honor for me and my family,” he added. Fuentes Colón, who premiered his work last May Clarinet Concerto, as part of the 2023 season of the Casals Festival.
