Yereidys Barreto Méndez (b. 1992)
Teacher and founder of Casa Piano. He started in music at the age of 8 taking classes from Puerto Rican cuatro. Later he showed interest in the piano, beginning his studies with a private teacher and taking part in the Fine Arts program with teacher and band director Julio Vázquez Rodríguez. Once she finished her school studies, she became part of a community of nuns where she continued her musical training, delving into the history of sacred music. In this community she stood out as the person in charge of liturgical music, directed the choir and was a pianist. It was then that he found his calling in life as an artist. Her desire to learn more about music led her to apply for admission to the Bachelor of Music Education at the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music where she was accepted. As a student at the Conservatory, she worked in the Activities Office as an Usher while working as a piano teacher at a music academy. Both Dr. Marta Hernández, Nelie Lebron and Marisa García have been part of the teachers who contributed greatly to her vocation for musical education and the piano.
She currently works as an official teacher at Casa Piano where she offers her students multiple alternatives to achieve musical growth of excellence. Through her career as a teacher, some students from her studio have successfully been accepted into Free Music Schools, participated in talent competitions, and received musical recognition in different media.
