Master of Music with a concentration in Collaborative Piano

About the Collaborative Piano Concentration

The creation of the Master of Music program with a concentration in Collaborative Piano responds to the need to train highly skilled professionals in the field of piano accompaniment in Puerto Rico. This program is the first and only one of its kind in the country dedicated specifically to the training of collaborative pianists.

The Master's program is designed to combine vocal, instrumental, and chamber music. The program will offer practical training for pianists who have completed their Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance and who are interested in a career as a collaborating pianist and in rehearsal.coaching). It will provide diverse opportunities for pianists to develop practical experience in different musical contexts and work environments. The practice and observation component will be fundamental for students to acquire skills in real-world settings where they will later work professionally. Practical and observational work will be coordinated to take place in both university and non-university programs offered by the institution. Collaborations will also be established with other organizations that provide diverse practical opportunities beyond those offered by the CMPR within its own facilities.
