Introduction to Jazz Composition Techniques
Code: ICJA 3001

 

Systematic study of the art of composition in the language of jazz. Exploration of stylistic, melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic principles. Study of standard jazz forms. Analysis of jazz standards. Basic study of arrangement principles for the purpose of developing a composition. Jazz combo projects will be required. (Prerequisite: TMUS 3002)
Academic degree requirement:

Have completed a Bachelor's Degree in Music, Music Education, equivalent university degree in music or those comparable offered by universities.
