Appropriate Practices for Early Music Education

This course explores the fundamental concepts of music education from infancy through preschool, examining various theories that describe appropriate methods for teaching music at this level. It will explore different existing music curricula for preschool music education, analyze suitable musical and instrumental materials and repertoire for young children, and finally, examine the close relationship between music and movement as a core component of preschool music education.

(Prerequisites: EDUR 3104, EDUR 3105, PTEA 3012, SOLF 3012, TMUS 3012)
Academic degree requirement:

Have completed a Bachelor's Degree in Music, Music Education, equivalent university degree in music or those comparable offered by universities. 
Credits: 3

Days on which the course is taught: Monday and Wednesday

Schedule: 9:30 am – 11:00 pm.
