This course presents an integrated overview of the basic principles of special education in Puerto Rico. It includes an analysis of the causes of exceptionalities, current laws, and a study of the educational, historical, psychological, and social foundations that govern the Special Education Program in Puerto Rico and other countries. The course examines the possible causes of the most common exceptionalities found in the regular classroom and the appropriate teaching strategies for effectively managing both the educational setting and the behavior of this student population. (Prerequisites: EDUR 3103) 
Academic degree requirement:

Have completed a Bachelor's Degree in Music, Music Education, equivalent university degree in music or those comparable offered by universities.
