Q: What are the Library hours?

A: Monday to Thursday: 7:30 am – 8:30 pm
Friday: 7:30 am – 5:00 pm
Saturday: 10:00 am – 3:30 pm
Sundays and holidays: Closed

Q: Can I borrow resources?

A: Active students in the Conservatory's undergraduate program and faculty may borrow, for thirty days, up to ten resources from the Circulation and Miniature Score collections, which include books, scores, and methods.

Q: What do I need to do to be able to borrow any resource(s)?

A:

  1. Access the Library's public catalog available at cmpr.edu/library
  2. Find the resource you need and check the following: Status: Available, Circulation. Resources that appear with the status "available" and belong to the Circulation and Miniature Sheet Music collections are available for loan.
  3. If the resource is available: write down the Author, Title and classification number or Call Number.
  4. Request the resource at the Circulation counter.
  5. If you cannot come to the Library, you can write to us at biblioteca@cmpr.pr.gov or call (787) 751-0160, ext. 256

Q: How do I search the public catalog?

Q: What does it mean when the resource status appears in the public catalog as not available?

A: A status of not available means the resource is on loan. To find out when the resource might be available for loan, please contact the library staff at the Library Circulation Desk. You can also write to us at biblioteca@cmpr.pr.gov or call (787) 751-0160, ext. 256. Library staff will inform you about the availability of this resource or other possible options.

Q: What does it mean when the resource status appears in the public catalog with no holdings available?

A: No holdings available means that the resource is in the warehouse.

Q: How long can I borrow a resource?

A: You can borrow up to ten resources for a period of thirty days. The resource has a piece of paper taped inside. (Date due) with the date on which you must return the resource. The resource returned after the punched out date will accumulate a fine.

Q: What can I do if I need to use the resource for longer than the time it was provided to me?

A: To renew your loan, you must bring the resource to the Library before the due date and indicate that you need to use it for a longer period. Library staff will inform you how long the resource can be renewed.

Q: Can I use the Virtual Library?

A: The Virtual Library is available only to faculty and active students in the Conservatory's undergraduate program. You can access the Virtual Library at the link cmpr.edu/biblioteca/recursos/virtual-library

Q: Why can't I access the Virtual Library?

A: To access the Virtual Library, you must use your institutional Office 365 account and the same password you use to access this account. You must enter your full institutional account, for example, enter margalopez@cmpr.edu instead of margalopez. If you have any difficulties with your institutional account, you can request assistance by writing to: asistencia@cmpr.edu.
