Introduction to Jazz Composition Techniques

Code: ICJA 3001

Systematic study of the art of composition in the language of Jazz. Exploration of stylistic, melodic, harmonic and rhythmic principles. Study of standard Jazz forms. Analysis of Jazz standards. Basic study of the principles of arrangement in order to develop a composition. Jazz combo projects will be required.

Academic degree requirement:

Have completed a Bachelor's Degree in Music, Music Education, equivalent university degree in music or those comparable offered by universities.
