About Piano Performance at PRCM

The Piano program at CMPR has a highly experienced faculty who guide students throughout their years of study. Students receive personal attention with at least a one-hour individual lesson weekly and participation in a weekly seminar class. In addition, students perform frequently in an array of settings (recitals, masterclasses, concertos), and collaborate with peers and faculty coaches in chamber music.

Demonstrate high level competence in piano performance.
Demonstrate comprehensive capabilities about a variety of musical styles in solo and ensemble literature through solo performance and in a variety of chamber ensemble settings.
Synthesize both the history and literature of Western music and Puerto Rican Music within the framework of its sources and cultural influences.
Share critical assessments about voice performance by their peers, based on corresponding music periods and styles.
Demonstrate competence in leadership and entrepreneurship regarding professional practices in the field of piano performance.
