About Piano Performance at PRCM

The Piano program at CMPR has a highly experienced faculty who guide students throughout their years of study. Students receive personal attention with at least a one-hour individual lesson weekly and participation in a weekly seminar class. In addition, students perform frequently in an array of settings (recitals, masterclasses, concertos), and collaborate with peers and faculty coaches in chamber music.

  • Demonstrate high level competence in piano performance.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive capabilities about a variety of musical styles in solo and ensemble literature through solo performance and in a variety of chamber ensemble settings.
  • Synthesize both the history and literature of Western music and Puerto Rican Music within the framework of its sources and cultural influences.
  • Share critical assessments about voice performance by their peers, based on corresponding music periods and styles.
  • Demonstrate competence in leadership and entrepreneurship regarding professional practices in the field of piano performance.
