The PRCM’s Jazz and Caribbean Music program fosters the technical development of the instrument and the fundamental elements of harmony, theory, improvisation, and styles characteristic of jazz and Caribbean music. Improvisation courses, arrangement, private lessons, and participation in various ensembles are part of the experiences that seek to develop to the maximum the potential and skills of students to understand and interpret all traditional styles of jazz and music of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
Admission to the university programs of the Conservatory of Music is based on the audition process and/or admission exam determined by each career.
