V String Festival of the PR Conservatory of Music San Juan, PR

The Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music is pleased to present its V String Festival
on March 10 to 12, 2023 at the Bertita and Guillermo L. Martínez Theater at our headquarters in Miramar.

The Festival founded by Prof. Francisco Cabán Vale presents a comprehensive program of master classes and concerts.

The artists and educators invited to this edition are:

Emily Levin – harp,
Puerta-Vázquez Duo – guitar,
Jaime Amador – viola,
Julia Choi – fiddle
Christine Lamprea – cello.

This edition will have emphasis on the music of Puerto Rican composers and performers.

  • The program begins on Friday, March 10 at 4:00 pm. with a concert by the students of the Strings Department in the Anthony “Junior” Soto Room.
  • On Saturday, March 11, the Festival continues starting at 10:00 am. with harp and guitar master classes.
    At 1:00 pm a viola master class will be offered.
    The day ends with the concert Groundworks: Angelica Negron at 3:00 pm in the Jesús María Sanromá Room.
    In this concert the premiere of Bird of Paradise, the work of the renowned composer who graduated from the Angélica Negrón Conservatory.
  • Master classes will be offered on Sunday, March 12 at 10:00 am violin and cello.
    At 4:00 pm guests, faculty and students join to present
    the Closing Concert of the Festival in the Jesús María Sanromá Room of the Bertita and Guillermo L. Martínez Theater.

Master classes and concerts on Friday and Saturday are free.
Admission ticket is required for Sunday's Closing Concert which you can get
in PR Ticket Center (ww.tcpr.com – (787) 792-5000) at a cost of $10 plus service charges.
