He has a Master of Arts in Music Therapy from the University of Missouri—Kansas City and a bachelor's degree from the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music in Classical Guitar (performance) with additional studies in music education. Currently, he works as a music therapist at the Veterans Hospital in San Juan, being the first music therapist at this institution in Puerto Rico. In said hospital, he creates the music therapy program in different areas such as mental health, rehabilitation, community housing center, rehabilitation center for the blind, among others.

Previously, she worked as a music therapist at the California Department of State Hospitals – Atascadero, a maximum security forensic psychiatric facility with primarily male patients. As a bilingual music therapist, I offered multiple groups for Spanish-speaking patients. Some areas addressed through music therapy include stress reduction, cognition, perception, emotional intelligence, social skills, and anger and aggression management. Additionally, he was an internship supervisor and committee chair. He has had the opportunity to present at regional, national and international conferences on music therapy in the mental health setting. Finally, he has worked voluntarily as a website manager for the organization “Latin American Music Therapy Network.”
