Kodály Certification returns to the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music
San Juan, Puerto Rico — Monday, July 14, 2025
After several years of hiatus, in June 2025, the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music resumed offering Level 1 of the prestigious Kodály Certification program, once again available to all educators, musicians, and industry professionals interested in perfecting their musical teaching practices.
Kodály pedagogy, created by Hungarian composer and educator Zoltán Kodály (1882-1967), seeks to develop an interest in music from an early age through singing, fostering fundamental skills such as reading and writing. It is distinguished by its use of high-quality folk repertoire and a structured learning sequence taught by highly trained teachers.
Looking ahead to the summer of 2026, the Conservatory plans to expand its offerings to include both Level 1 and Level 2 of the Kodály Certification, opening up greater opportunities for the development of music educators with academic and artistic excellence.
