Presentation of the album Matices – Prof. Alba Franco-Cancel and pianist Jennifer Cancelado

The Matices Duo, composed of soprano singer, professor and director of the Singing Department at the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music, Alba Franco-Cancel, and pianist Jennifer Cancelado, will present their album entitled "Matices" on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., in the Anthony "Junior" Soto Room of the Bertita and Guillermo L. Martínez Theater of the CMPR in Miramar.

Dúo Matices is committed to the study, performance, and dissemination of Latin American classical music. In this, their debut album, the duo rescues forgotten Puerto Rican and Mexican art songs. It includes interpretations by Puerto Rican composer Monsita Ferrer, musical gems by Leonardo Egúrbiba, and songs by composers of our generation: Alberto Guidobaldi and Tonatiuh Vázquez, both CMPR alumni.

The duo's vision is to highlight the richness and beauty of Latin America's cultural and musical diversity through innovative performances that seek to educate and make Latin American art songs accessible to everyone.
