Forum: “The Influence of Tite Curet on Composers”

Catalino “Tite” Curet Alonso (1926–2003) is one of the most transcendental figures in Puerto Rican and Latin American popular music, with a body of work of more than 2,000 compositions that have impacted music, film and social thought inside and outside of Puerto Rico.
The Catalino “Tite” Curet Alonso Centenary Committee (1926–2026) has achieved a unprecedented gathering of wills, integrating educational, cultural, community and communication institutions at the local and international level, with the purpose of turning the commemoration of its centenary into a true national project.
The CMPR, as the leading institution in musical education in the country, recognizes the historical, artistic and social importance of the work of Tite Curet Alonso and the relevance of actively participating in the Centennial commemorative activities.
As part of these activities, the following has been conceived: Forum: “The Influence of Tite Curet on Composers”, as an academic and cultural space for reflection, dialogue and intergenerational education.
