Former student Roberto M. Rivera Ramírez
Wins Principal French Horn Chair at Kingston Symphony

We are proud to announce that our former student Roberto Rivera, a native of the municipality of Humacao and a product of its Escuela Libre de Música, has won the principal horn chair of the Kingston Symphony in Ontario, Canada. His professional career is a testament to his dedication and passion for music, having been part of prestigious orchestras such as the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, the Arturo Somohano Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra, among others.

Roberto began his musical training at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico, where he earned his Bachelor of Music degree with a specialization in French horn, under the tutelage of teachers Luis Arroyo and, later, Rafael Enrique Irizarry. His desire to perfect his art took him to Chicago, where he earned a Master of Music degree and a diploma in Orchestral Studies from Roosevelt University. Additionally, he had the privilege of studying with outstanding musicians such as members of the horn section of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, such as Dale Clevenger and David Griffin.

Throughout his career, Roberto has also been a member of the Canadian Armed Forces Central Band, the Maple Leaf Horn Quartet and the Borinquen Brass, where he has contributed his talent and dedication.

This new position with the Kingston Symphony represents an exciting step in his career, and we are confident that he will continue to inspire young musicians with his success story.
