Elimination of debts of university students, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic
The rector of the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music (CMPR), Dr. Manuel Calzada, announces that student debts for tuition, fees or penalties generated since March 13, 2020 until June 30, 2021. This aid is extended to students at undergraduate and graduate levels, enrolled in the CMPR, since the declaration of the First Executive Order on the COVID-19 pandemic, which took effect on March 13, 2020 until June 30, 2021. It is not required to demonstrate financial need.
The determination has the purpose of ensuring that students, who have any outstanding balance or debt, can continue their university studies at our Conservatory despite the challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought with it. The regulations of the 'American Rescue Plan' require us, particularly, that the use of these federal funds assigned to our University be for these purposes.
For us it is very important that you, our students, can continue your studies at CMPR and we reiterate our commitment to providing you with all possible help.
For more information, students may contact, starting today August 2, 2021, with the Accounts Receivable Office of the Department of Finance through extensions 245 and 267, or via email to: mvelazquez@cmpr.pr.gov.
