

Ramos’ international appearances include the title role in G. Donizetti’s Don Pasquale in Spain, Leporello in Don Giovanni by W. A. Mozart in Israel, and the title role in El Cimarrón composed by Hans Werne Henze in Mexico. Eliam performed in several productions of La Bohème in the fall of 2022. He sang the role of Schaunard with the Soo Theatre company in Michigan and will cover the role of Marcello at Opera in Williamsburg.
Eliam Ramos
Eliam Ramos has a rich lyric bass-baritone voice. He graduated from the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico. He made his professional debut in 2011 as El Comendador in the opera Don Giovanni by WA Mozart with the Puerto Rico Opera Theater, conducted by tenor, Maestro Antonio Barasorda. Since then his artistic engagements have included the role of Baltazar in Amahl and the Night Visitors, Fauré's Requiem and the Zarzuela Gala for the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra. Other notable performances include Mozart's Requiem with the Puerto Rico Philharmonic Orchestra, Luis Nogales in the zarzuela Luisa Fernanda, Don Pedro in the zarzuela El Barberillo de Lavapies, a pirate in Rafael Hernández's operetta Cofresí, as well as other varied concerts, recitals, master classes and summer opera programs.
Ramos has participated in several opera and zarzuela ensembles. As part of the Opera Workshop of the Conservatory in Puerto Rico, he has performed the role of the Superintendent in the opera Albert Herring by Benjamin Britten, Der Tod in Der Kaiser von Atlantis by Victor Ullman and the Priest in The Magic Flute by WA Mozart.
In 2013 he made his way to New York City and, with the Brooklyn College Opera Workshop, performed the role of Lord Sidney in Rossini’s Il Viaggio a Reims and Sparafucille and Monterone in Verdi’s Rigoletto. Eliam also sang the role of Ben in The Telephone by Gian-Carlo Menotti. His other New York opera appearances include the role of The Prior in the zarzuela La Dolorosa, the Zarzuela Gala at the Spanish Center in Queens, and the Ballet and Opera Concert at the Astoria.

This season, he will be one of the resident soloists in Her Dimmock’s “Bach in Baltimore.” He will sing Bach’s Cantata No. 182, Cantata No. 2, and Cantata No. 112. Ramos is also committed to The Metropolitan Opera Guild to sing Germont’s arias in Verdi’s La Traviata on October 19. As a busy New York artist, Eliam is always singing in concert and recital.
